Lane book

Privacy Policy

Swimio is a personal swim-training log. You record pool sessions on your device, review history, compare two logged swims, and watch distance and stroke trends. Swimio does not ask you to create an account, and it does not operate a Swimio server that receives your training book.

01 What stays on the device

When you log a swim, Swimio stores the details you enter on that device. That book may include session dates and times, pool length, stroke, distance, completed sets, reusable training plans, comparison choices, and statistics windows you pick.

Those records live in Swimio’s application support folder on the device. They are excluded from device backups so a restored phone does not silently replay an old training book.

Swimio does not upload training records to Apple Health, and it does not send the training book to a Swimio-operated website or database.

02 Apple Health

If you choose Bring from Health, Swimio requests read-only access to swim workouts in Apple Health. You can decline. Manual logging still works without Health access.

When access is granted, Swimio may copy authorized swim workouts into your local history so they can sit beside sessions you typed yourself. Swimio does not write workouts, heart rate, or other samples back to Apple Health.

Removing an imported copy from Swimio leaves the original Health workout untouched. You can also revoke Health access in the device Settings app at any time.

03 Spoken notes

If you leave a spoken note after a swim, Swimio uses the microphone only while you record that note. The audio is stored on the device with the session and is excluded from backups.

Swimio does not transcribe the note on a remote service and does not upload the recording.

04 Session photographs

You may attach a photograph to a session using the system photo picker. Swimio does not request access to your entire photo library. A copy of the image you pick is stored with that session on the device and is excluded from backups.

05 Lane marks and purchases

Lane marks are a balance kept on the device. Compare uses marks, and extra parked training plans beyond the first three also use marks. You may add marks through in-app purchases offered in the kiosk.

The mark balance is stored in the device Keychain. Apple processes the payment through StoreKit. Swimio does not collect or store payment card numbers, Apple ID passwords, or billing addresses.

Purchase receipts and restore events are handled so a finished pour can be seated on the book. Duplicate Apple transactions are ignored once that pour is already closed.

06 What we do not collect

Swimio does not require a name, email address, phone number, or password to use the log. It does not run advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, or social-login buttons in this version of the app.

If you email us, we will receive whatever you include in that message so we can reply. That correspondence is separate from the training book on your device.

07 Storage and security

Training records, photographs, and spoken notes remain in the app sandbox. Lane marks remain in Keychain. Access follows the protections of the device: passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and operating-system sandboxing.

No electronic store is perfectly insulated. If the device is lost, unlocked, jailbroken, or backed up by tools you control, another person with that device may be able to open Swimio.

08 Retention and deletion

Records stay until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete a manual session or an imported copy from history. You can rename or remove parked plans from the plan board. Deleting a session also discards the photograph and spoken note stored with it when those files exist.

Uninstalling Swimio removes the local training book, local media, and the Keychain mark balance associated with the app, subject to ordinary operating-system cleanup.

09 Children

Swimio is a personal training log and is not directed at children under 13. In-app purchases are intended for users who can enter a binding agreement, which we treat as 18 years of age or the age of majority in the user’s place of residence, whichever is higher.

10 Apple and other parties

Apple provides HealthKit, StoreKit, Keychain, and the photo picker. Apple’s handling of Apple ID, payment, and Health data is governed by Apple’s own policies, not by this notice.

Swimio does not sell training records or lane-mark balances. We may disclose information if required to comply with law, a valid legal request, or to protect the security of the app.

11 Changes

If the way Swimio keeps information changes, this Privacy Policy will carry a new effective date. Continued use after that date is acceptance of the revised notice where the law treats it that way.

12 Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy or about records sitting in the lane book can be sent to swimio@gmail.com. Describe the device and the part of the log involved so the reply can stay on the right lane.
